Consider this the official start to my holiday shopping series - The Holiday Edit.

I planned to start off with one post on brand collaborations. It turns out, ‘Wicked’ - the movie adaptation of the Tony-winning broadway musical of the same name - has taken over the retail world. So much so that I needed to dedicate an entire post to just ‘Wicked’ brand collabs. Good thing they are adorable.

Just so everyone is on are on the same page, collab is short for collaboration and is when two brands come together to create mutually beneficial products and campaigns. I think that collab items make amazing gifts. Sometimes a luxury brand will collaborate with a more affordable brand - giving the average shopper a chance to indulge in the opulence. Other times, two brands will enter into a totally unexpected partnership creating products that are funny, entertaining, and a tad exclusive since most of the time only a limited number of products are created and sold.

Kate Spade New York has recently partnered with Heinz - yup, Heinz Ketchup. And while you can get a large tote bag that resembles the iconic ketchup bottle you definitely have in your fridge, you can also get more wearable items like a phone case or a simple but elegant shoulder bag in Heinz Ketchup red. Kate Spade is releasing another fun, food-adjacent collab soon, which will be highlighted in part two of this collab series.
